When news reached Grazia Towers that street-style star Caroline Issa was set to collaborate with LK Bennett (Kate Middleton’s favourite cobbler), our curiosity was duly piqued. Raised in Montreal to a Chinese mother and Lebanese/ Iranian father, Caroline is not only the publisher of uber-hip Tank magazine but a front-row regular and blogger favourite.
Her capsule collection for LK Bennett – which Caroline is pictured wearing exclusively in the new issue of Grazia – is a fabulous, fash-pack friendly collection of Thai-inspired (and instantly covetable) shoes and totes complete with swing-tag pom-poms and neon threads.
‘LK Bennett is the classic go-to brand for quality, chic styles,’ Caroline told us, ‘but sometimes I think the Middleton effect overshadows what else they have on offer, so it’s great to be able to offer something so fashion-forward.’
So having already been snapped in her new collection, what are Caroline’s top styling tips? Here are Ms Issa's top 10 rules...
1. Start with your shoes
'Build an outfit around a statement pair of heels or flats. I always helps to put a stake in the ground!'
2. Invest in a great pair of chandelier earrings
'I tend to wear them with any day outfit to turn it into a more evening/cocktail outfit. Prada do amazing ones.'
3. I love a great belt
'Cinching the waist on almost any outfit adds a great silhouette. I love ones from Paul Smith and Lara Bohinc.'
4. I've recently started wearing watches again
'It's less to tell the time but more for the added wrist candy. I'm currently dreaming about a Cartier Tank watch - how could I not with a name like that?'
5. Crisp white shirts
'They are a great outfit base to let your accessories shine through.'
6. Much of my shoe wardrobe is made up of stilettos
'I love a skinny heel - but I am buying more statement flats. They're much better for running around town in! I love Charlotte Olympia's new horoscope flats and Jimmy Choos are great stalwarts.'
7. Buy Muji clear jewellery boxes for storage
'That way you can actually remember what fun jewels you have when it comes to accessorising!'
8. Don't be afraid to clash with colours and print
'It's been print heaven for the last few seasons, so you won't look like you've gotten dressed in the dark if you go a little crazy with the prints nowadays!'
9. I'm in NYC where manicures are cheap, fast and good
'It helps to have beautifully manicured nails to show off your arm/hand accessories. That said, I'm the worst at following my own advice!'
10. When in doubt, put on some redlipstick
'A red lip can sometimes be the most effective accessory to have on.'
